More About FSNSA
Food Sovereignty is the right of peoples, communities and
countries to define their own agricultural, labour, fishing,
food and land policies which are ecologically, socially,
economically and culturally appropriate to their unique
circumstances. It includes right to food which means that
all people have the right to safe, nutritious and culturally
appropriate food and to food producing resources and the
ability to sustain themselves and their societies.
To this end a Food Sovereignty Network South Asia (FSNSA)
has been formed involving NGOs/CSOs and People's Movements
of India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and
Nepal of South Asia in 2009, on the eve of World Summit on
Food Security organized by FAO of United Nations, held in
Rome in November 2009.
